Food Sector Opportunity Project (FSOP)™
This course is designed to provide answers and information to people in all phases of food production. This class covers anything from recipe development and food safety issues to marketing of a food product.
FSOP™ is a weeklong course where students attend class for five (5) days, eight (8) hours each day. This 30-hour class offers:
- History and Culture of food
- Marketing Concepts
- Recipe and Product Development
- Food Safety and Microbiology
- Good Manufacturing Practices
- Sanitation and Food Safety
- FDA Regulations: Acidified Foods
- Labeling and Nutrition Analyses
- State Requirements
- Introduction to Business Plan
- Accounting and Business Practices
- Taos Food Center Manufacturing Requirements
NxLevel “Tilling the soil of opportunity.”
In this multi-session program, farmers will learn to reinvent their agricultural enterprises. Business planning, marketing research, and financial management skills are a few of the concrete tools taught by certified business trainers and local experts.
Using proven adult learning techniques and a curriculum tailored to the unique needs of New Mexico agriculture, participants will evaluate their business ideas and complete business plans ready for a banker’s review.
NxLevel is an eight (8) week class. Students attend class one (1) day per week from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Both of these classes are offered by TCEDC twice a year free of charge.
